This is an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic, talented, and ambitious individuals to work within our Commercial Services Team.

We have vacancies for two qualified Enforcement Officers/Environmental Health Officers with a Certificate of Registration issued by the Environmental Health Registration Board (or equivalent), and/or a NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent), who can complement the ideas and direction of the Team and contribute to the Council's strategic objectives.

Cheshire East is an amazing place to live and work. As one of the largest employers in the borough, we are able to offer you a wide range of challenging and rewarding career opportunities.

At Cheshire East Council we are working for a brighter future – together, and our commitment to you is that our workplace culture will provide a shared purpose, a well-led organisation with valued people succeeding together as one team and one council to deliver the best service for our customers and communities.

If you want to be part of our award-winning council and contribute to our ongoing success, have the flexibility and drive to enable us to innovate, are committed to working as part of a team and striving to deliver exceptional service wherever you can, we would especially like to hear from you.

As an equal opportunity’s employer, we welcome applicants from all backgrounds and want our workforce to reflect the diversity of our local communities so that we can all work for a brighter future - together.

As an Enforcement Officer, you will be responsible for a varied caseload across the disciplines covered by the Commercial Services Team, including food premises inspections (and approved premises), health & safety initiatives/accident investigations, responding to service requests and the investigation of food poisoning and outbreak notifications. Your role will include the provision of support and advice to individuals and the local business community, and where necessary to take appropriate enforcement action. The team also takes part in the ChESS service (Cheshire East School Support), carrying out in depth audits of school premises.

Working as part of a busy team, you will need to have a flexible approach to service delivery to meet your personal objectives and the wider aims of the team. You will require excellent verbal and written communication skills, good time management, and enjoy being part of a vibrant team.

If you think you have the skills and drive to contribute and compliment the service, then this may be the opportunity for you.
