We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Environmental Health Officer to join our small but dynamic Environmental Health team on a fixed term contract (12months).

This is a role for someone that likes to problem solve and takes pride in delivering a great service to customers. You’ll need to bring a positive attitude, be prepared to try new ways of working, celebrate success, and show perseverance to achieve compliance. Organisational skills will be invaluable to manage a varied caseload, for which you will take personal responsibility.

There is a need to be flexible and sometimes be prepared to work outside of regular office hours to deliver our services.

In this role, you’ll be working within a small generic Environmental Health team responding to both service requests and delivering statutory interventions based upon your experience and competency. There will be also the opportunity to undertake specialist project work.

We welcome applications from all levels of experience and where you are positioned on the career progression programme (found in the application documentation) will be reflected in your salary.

You’ll need to be team player. This means being able to demonstrate the behaviours of our #OneTeam ethos to get the best outcomes for both our residential and business customers.

This is a busy team working across a broad range of Environmental Health activity but you don’t necessarily need experience of all areas, just a willingness to learn and support the wider team.

You will have a relevant qualification In Environmental Health. This is a frontline role, so good verbal and written communication skills are necessary, along with the ability to explain complex legislation to a variety of audiences.

Please apply online via the Apply button link.

Please read the Role Profile fully before applying for this vacancy. It is essential you refer to the Role Profile when completing your application, particularly the additional information section.

You must demonstrate how you meet the criteria set out in the Role Profile and give examples to support your statements. If you do not demonstrate how you meet the criteria for the role, your application will be unsuccessful.

Closing date for applications is 31 October 2021.

Assessments and Interviews will be held on 5 November and 12 November 2021 and will be conducted virtually over Microsoft Teams.
