Job Details

Our client in South London is looking to appoint a Commissioning and Procurement officer to help support the Commissioning Manager for Adult Social Care within the coorporate Commissioning and Procurement team.

The projects the post holder is expected to support with include: Short Breaks, HR systems, Insurance, Payroll, external audit, SENDIASS, Homestart, placement commissioning and various contract extensions - Experience in any of these areas would be a big benefit.

Some key role responsibilities:

1.Carrying out research, benchmarking and market analysis to drive a focus on the most efficient and effective use of resources to inform commissioning plans
2.Maintaining the Council's commissioning and procurement guidance materials and templates
3.Supporting the procurement governance/gateway process to ensure timely and informed commercial decisions
4.Delivering low value and routine procurement projects
5.Providing introductory training and support for the e-tendering system
6.Providing procurement advice and signposting to further support

For this assignment it is essential that you have experience, or good knowledge of commissioning and procurement best practice. It will also be beneficial if you have experience of working within the public sector. This role will last for an initial 3 month period and the pay rate is £30-£35/hour umbrella.
