EHO - Housing

Our client, based in South Wales are looking for a Private Sector Housing Officer to focus on a project to maximise compliance with The Domestic Minimum Energy Efficiency Standard (MEES) Regulations which set a minimum energy efficiency level for domestic private rented properties. Improving the energy efficiency of private sector housing quality of accommodation in the County Borough, in accordance with the Council's corporate priorities.

You will help to improve the health, well-being and quality of life of existing and future generations within the County Borough, by using a variety of interventions including encouragement and partnership working, progressing through to warnings and enforcement action. You will be responsible for the inspection of residential premises to ensure minimum housing standards are met in all types and tenure of housing including houses in multiple occupation.

You will also investigate service requests, deal with empty home matters, provide both planning consultations and local land charges property search responses as well as processing individual housing grants and loans. The workload is demanding and requires you to have a toolbox of skills to address the many and varied situations you will deal with on a day to day basis whilst working within the Council's adopted policies and procedures. You must hold a Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and have access to the use of a motor vehicle insured for business / work purposes to travel throughout the borough to respond to service requirements.

Flexible working hours are in operation but you must be prepared to work outside these hours to undertake duties as and when required.

The initial contract will be for 3 months however this maybe extended. They are paying £33PH-£38PH Umbrella and there is scope to work from home when not on district.
