12 months Fixed Term, Full Time, 37 hrs per week post (may be extended to 18 months)

Are you looking for an opportunity to progress your Environmental Health career by working in the field of neighbourhood nuisance/pollution etc.? We have an opportunity in our Noise & Neighbourhood team; we are recruiting an Environmental Health Officer on a 12-month Fixed Term basis.

The post holder will be part of our busy frontline team, working alongside other EHOs, Pollution Control Officers and Community Safety Wardens. You will be required to investigate noise and other statutory nuisance, anti-social behaviour, waste, and flytipping incidents and take appropriate enforcement action. You will have the opportunity to advise on planning and licensing consultations in respect of environmental health issues. This position involves working with both internal and external stakeholders.

You must hold a relevant degree or diploma to apply and experience in the subject area would be beneficial. You will need to demonstrate effective communication, team working and negotiation skills; be able to use tact and diplomacy when dealing with people. You must also be able to effectively organise and prioritise work to meet deadlines.
