An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an experienced and qualified officer to lead, supervise and be responsible for our team dealing with food safety, occupational safety, infectious disease control, skin piercing registrations and animal and special treatment licensing.
The successful applicant must be qualified and competent in accordance with the current Food Law Code of Practice to act as the Authorities ‘Lead food Officer’ and have recent experience working in food safety in a Local Authority.
Ideally you should also have worked as an authorised officer under section 19 of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974.
You will need to be highly motivated and able to work independently with the ability to manage and lead a team, develop procedures and policies and ensuring service delivery targets and statutory inspection programmes are defined and delivered.
Ideally you will have experience in the licensing of animal activities and the licensing and registration of skin piercing/skin colouring and other special treatments, although development in these work areas will be facilitated.
You should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to analyse and interpret legislation and enforce it in a balanced way using all of the legislative tools available. The successful applicant should also possess the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
