Food Safety Officer/Environmental Health Officer

Salary range Local scale Career Grade BR9 - BR13 (£30,788 - £42,029)

Bromley in the South East of London is a lovely place to work. We have a good balance between the challenges of an inner London authority and a district council, with a mix of areas. We are London’s largest Borough by area and cover densely urban areas in the north through to green belt countryside in the south.

With over 2400 food businesses we are a small, busy team. The Civic Centre is located in a pleasant park with the Glades shopping centre 5 mins walk away. Central London is less than 20 mins away by train and we have good access to the M25.  

We are looking for a 1 X FTE permanent, qualified EHO or Food Safety Officer to join our enthusiastic team. You must meet the competencies sent out in the Food Law Code of Practice for an authorised Food Safety Officer e.g. hold the Higher Certificate in Food Control (or equivalent). Recent experience of food safety enforcement gained while working within a Local Authority and   EHRB registration (or equivalent) are preferable.

This role may involve some homeworking combined with site visits.
