Environmental Health Officer- Private Sector Housing

A qualified  Environmental Health Officer is required with previous experience of delivering roles associated to the commercial aspects of Environmental Health, in particular experience of operating in a LA H&S enforcement role for our client in South East England. The candidate will require experience and knowledge of current Covid-19 requirements placed on business through H&S legislation, with the ability to review and assess business control measures and risk assessments relating to Covid-19 and be able to provide effective follow up action to support business compliance.

The candidate will ideally have experience of receiving, reviewing and commenting on a range of licence applications, including premises licences, TEN's & street trading, with the ability to engage productively with applicants to ensure public safety and public nuisance is appropriately managed, or ensure any concerns are raised and resolved. In addition to the above the ability to investigate and assess complaints relating to nuisance associated to licensed premises and commercial businesses would be welcomed.

This role can be delivered flexibly, with all officers within the service currently working in an agile manner, with the ability to work from home to deliver actions other than visits and monitoring etc.  However applicants WILL be required to attend the district regularly to undertake monitoring, visit businesses, etc.
