We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to carry out the full range of day to day functions and duties of an Environmental Health Officer in accordance with legislative requirements and the Council’s policies and objectives.

Graduate Environmental Health Officer – Commercial Food, Health & Safety and Environmental Protection

£22,183 - £24,491 per annum.

An opportunity has arisen within Place and Communities to recruit a Graduate who will have the opportunity to complete their practical training programme which will lead to registration and employment as a Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner.

The post is offered on a full time basis of 37 hours per week.

The post holder will be expected to have successfully completed a Bsc (H) or Master’s degree in Environmental Health and achieve Registration as a Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner within 2 years of obtaining the degree. Whilst completing the degree and practical training requirements, the post holder will be responsible for their own case load across all work areas of Environmental Health.

To apply you must have a degree in a relevant Environmental Science/Public Health subject and be able to demonstrate an interest in Environmental Health and knowledge of Local Government and other health organisations. 

To be successful, you will be a self-motivated and enthusiastic team player, possessing excellent communication, organisational and analytical skills and experience of dealing with members of the public.

The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide information, advice and instruction in accurate spoken English is an essential requirement.
