Our client, based in East London, is looking to add a Senior Health Practitioner to their expanding Health Protection team. You will join a Consultant in Public Health Medicine and an Infection Prevention and Control Nurse Specialist who have been leading on setting up new systems and processes over the last 16 months with the support of the wider Public Health team, the council and other local partners.
The successful applicant will carry out a wide range of duties which will include: overseeing the acute health protection response service providing expert advice to and supporting the clinical team in responding to a range of notifications, enquiries and incidents, providing specialist health protection advice to other health professionals and members of the public; and supporting the Public Health Consultant lead to ensure the team work collaboratively and effectively in the management of incidents and outbreaks of infectious diseases.
* Current registration with an appropriate health or science related professional body
* Recognised qualification in Infection Prevention and Control or demonstrable equivalent experience
* Recognised teaching qualification or equivalent experience, e.g. PGCE or NVQ Level 4 Certificate in Education
It is also essential that you have substantial experience in a health protection role at a senior level with specialist knowledge and expertise in Health Protection and an understanding of and ability to work under the current Health and Social Care Act (e.g. safeguarding vulnerable adults; data protection, information governance)
This role is for 6-12 months with an extension also likely thereafter. The rate for this role is £26/hour umbrella.
