Buckingham Futures are working on behalf of our public sector client located in Leicestershire for an Environmental Health Technical Support role. This will be largely focused within the Environmental Health and Housing Teams, with a key focus on the administrative and enforcement action with regards to noise and nuisance complaints and Disabled Facilities Grants.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

Respond to enquiries from the public

Provide administrative support to officers in their day-to-day work

Monitor and maintain records including back-office computer records

Respond to all service requests within the remit of the work of the team

Provide advice and guidance

Assist with the administration of the Council’s disabled facilities grants

Provide the initial response to complaints about nuisance in relation to environmental health public protection, i.e. barking dogs, bonfires, noisy parties, accumulations etc.

Assist with taking enforcement action against those failing to comply with relevant legislation.

 

Key Skills/ Experience/ Qualifications

Evidence of knowledge and awareness of Environmental Health Legislation.

Experience in implementing Environmental Health and Public Protection Legislation.

Experience in delivering Disabled Facilities Grants (DFGs) is desirable.

Evidence of knowledge and experience with the back-office system Uniform and means test software for DFGs is desirable.

 

NB – This role can be done either full or part-time. It will be paying circa £30-40ph dependent on experience and education.
