Environmental Protection Officer

Well, the noise and commotion of the Euros is sadly over but Local Authority recruiting has not! So I have this role to shout about….

I am looking for an acoustics expert to assist a Local Authority with commercial and domestic noise complaints, as well as stat nuisance and planning apps. The contract will initially run for 3months, although has the potential to be extended till the end of the year. You will need to be on district weekly but can manage your time to suit you. You will be working in a small team consisting of 2 other officers who will be handling the general EP work to enable you to focus solely on the Noise work that will come in.

They are looking for an EP officer who is knowledgeable with noise complaints covering both commercial and domestic work.

This role will require you to deal with stat nuisances (around noise), noise (commercial and domestic), planning apps, and any reactive complaint work. The rate for this will be £35+ an hour (umbrella).

I am looking for someone who holds a diploma in acoustics and noise control, with a minimum of 3 years Local Authority experience. The council is open-minded and will look at candidates who have suitable experience even if they do not hold the relevant diploma.
