Our client in London is recruiting for a Health and Safety Advisor to help support Service Managers and the Street Scene Management Team in coordinating and delivering the Street Scene Health & Safety Framework and complying with Health & Safety requirements in the workplace.

 

 

Duties 

 

  1. Ensuring all risk assessments have been fully reviewed and published for use by employees as appropriate. Ensuring all actions detailed within service health and safety action plans have been assigned and are being actioned in accordance with specified timescales Coordinate the scheduling and completion of all health and safety quarterly themed inspections, quarterly peer reviews and process review audits Review and analyse data arising from health & safety inspections, audits and accident & near-miss reports identifying trends or patterns Support service managers in the development of remedial actions to mitigate or treat any trends etc. identified. Coordinate the population of a depot issues log and ensure that remedial actions are scheduled and delivered, including liaison with internal and external stakeholders as appropriate. Liaise with the Organisational Development Coordinator to use health & safety data and analyse to inform training and development plans, staff briefings and toolbox talks etc.

 

Knowledge and Experience

 

  1. NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent Health and Safety Certificate Experience of carrying out incident investigations and providing advice on remedial actions. Experience of using and implementing project management techniques Ability to administer and manage health and safety software systems Experience of using Office based products Ability to fully utilise the functionality of Microsoft Excel and produce complex reports General knowledge and understanding of current health and safety legislation and its application within the workplace Knowledge and understanding of health and safety processes and incorporating sensible risk management Experience in undertaking risk assessments Ability to analyse and understand data and information, and to provide management information and reports Experience in providing H&S guidance/advice Able to work collaboratively and build relationships Experience in writing technical reports and producing management information
