It’s an attractive place to live and work, and we’re excited to see businesses re-opening. With such a huge range of food establishments, it’s vital hygiene standards are at their best. As the council’s Food Regulatory Manager, you’ll oversee the thorough enforcement of food regulations across the borough – all 23 square miles of it.

In this senior role, you’ll manage and develop the food team. You’ll oversee operations and ensure official standards are upheld and recorded. With considerable experience managing food law enforcement, you’ll allocate tasks ranging from inspections to complaints. Plus, you’ll oversee the food team budget, including monthly reporting and annual fees.

We’ll look to you to oversee effective enforcement action, and deal with non-compliance and/or risks to public health. As an experienced leader, you’ll ensure this is carried out by the food team. You’ll also ensure hygiene ratings are uploaded to the FSA website, and proactively address any discrepancies you find. Additionally, you’ll represent the council at external meetings. You’ll work collaboratively with other managers within the service, and implement corporate objectives.

To join, you’ll have a B.Sc. (hons) or M.Sc. degree in Environmental Health with a Certificate of Registration issued by the Environmental Health Registration Board (EHRB) or its successor. This’ll be supported by a Higher Certificate in Food Control. As an expert communicator, you’ll confidently work with others and build strong relationships.
