If you are working in either Food Safety or Environmental Protection, then now is the time to make the jump. I am currently working on multiple contract opportunities with initial terms of between 6-12 months. Although this may seem worrying at the start, we see around 80% of contracts extended past their initial period and with the candidate pool being so small, there will always be another move for you once you do eventually finish.

Where historically it has been difficult to guarantee a placement close to home, the pandemic as forced local authorities to work more flexibility, meaning that you will not be having to go into the office as much as before which then widens the area of your search.

We are particularly light in the areas of Environmental Protection and Food Safety at the moment. This lack of supply is driving hourly rates up and we are currently seeing average hourly rates of anywhere between £35-£42 per hour (equivalent of £63-£75k annually). Does that sound appealing? Lincolnshire - Food Safety - £40 per hour - full time - 9 months

Leicestershire - Environmental Protection - £35 per hour - full time - 3 months

Derbyshire - Environmental Protection - £38 per hour - full time - 6 months

Derbyshire - Food Safety - £35 per hour - full time - 9 months

North Yorkshire - Environmental Protection - full time - 6 months
