If you are a highly motivated and adaptable food safety professional, we need you to join our small, professional, and multi-functional team.  We have a rare opportunity available in the Food Safety and Health and Safety team.

West Norfolk consists of urban, rural and coastal areas, and a variety of local industry including tourism, together with a thriving shellfish industry and busy river port.  This means we can offer you such a wide variety to this job role.

You will carry out detailed investigations and audits of mainly ‘high risk’ food and health and safety businesses including investigations into food premises, hygiene and health and safety complaints and referrals.  You with monitor and validate exports of fishery products and shellfish including the verification of documents, identity, and physical checks, in addition to fulfilling duties as prescribed under the International Health Regulations 2005 as part of the Port Health Authority function.  You will also be required to assist in the Covid response and recovery as necessary.

Qualified to environmental health degree (or equivalent) standard, you will be newly qualified or an experienced Environmental Health Officer with a professional membership of CIEH (or other relevant body) and update knowledge of current food and health and safety legislation.  You will be able to communicate effectively with a good understanding of enforcement procedures.  You must have a full driving licence to be able to travel around the Borough.
