Job Details

Our client, based in the south west of England is looking for a suitably qualified Food Safety & Standards Officer. In relation to food safety and standards, you will be expected to carry out inspections and investigations, where appropriate serve legal notices on behalf of the Council and accordingly appear in Court to ensure that statutory requirements and Council policies are fulfilled.

In order to be considered you must have a comprehensive knowledge of Food Standards and Food Safety legislation and appropriate post qualification experience is essential. You will need to comply with FSA requirements for an authorised officer. Knowledge / experience of our Flare database is desirable. It is essential that you hold a relevant qualification at degree level or equivalent professional qualification in Environmental Health, or in Food Safety and Food Standards. You can either be a Qualified Environmental Health Officer with EHORB registration (Environmental Health Officer Registration Board), OR have the Certificate in Food Control which includes the Higher Certification in Food Premises Inspection and Higher.

The role is currently set to run for an initial 12 weeks, starting as soon as possible. Our clients are willing to consider those who can work part time as well. The rates will start from £35 per hour and is negotiable.
