We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced individual to take a senior role in the day to day supervision of the Private Sector Housing Team and to take a lead role in the delivery of the service which works to improve the quality, safety, energy efficiency and management of housing within the borough, including undertaking enforcement where necessary and appropriate.
This position offers you a great opportunity to contribute to delivering safe homes to support and protect vulnerable people within our borough - a corporate priority of the Council. You will hold a relevant degree or equivalent housing related professional qualification/s and have supervisory experience. You will also possess significant knowledge gained through extensive experience in housing inspection and enforcement, including a working knowledge of PACE codes of practice. You must be qualified and experienced in the use and application of the Housing Health and Safety Rating System within a Local Housing Authority environment.
The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate up to date knowledge of housing and other legislation relevant to the post: specifically the Acts relating to housing conditions, enforcement, grants and the licensing of houses in multiple occupation.
You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be IT literate, and able to work on your own initiative or as part of a team: committed to undertaking continuing training and development.
A flexible approach to working hours is required to fulfil this 37 hour contract, to be worked between Monday and Friday each week
