North Lincolnshire Council is looking for two self-motivated individuals with an active interest in Environmental Health to take up our newly created apprenticeship roles within the Public Protection Service. As an Apprentice you will be given the opportunity to study, part time for a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Health at Leeds Beckett University whilst undertaking on the job learning in the workplace.

Further information can be found at How do I become an EHP? - CIEH Environmental Health Practitioners work across a diverse range of functional areas which contribute to improving the nation’s public health. The work of an EHP may include food safety, health and safety, environmental protection, noise control, pest control, housing standards and envirocrime including littering and flytipping.
How do I become an EHP? - CIEH
Whilst you will have the chance to work across all aspects of the service, we are hoping to place candidates within one of two teams. One apprentice will be based within the Food & Safety Team and one will be based within the Environmental Health & Housing Team.
To apply for an apprenticeship, you will have achieved (or be predicted and awaiting results) a minimum of 3 A levels or equivalent including at least two science based subjects drawn from: Chemistry, Biology, Human Biology, Physics, Geography, Geology, Environmental Science, Nutrition, Food Science. Each A level should be at Grade C or above and provide a combined total of 104 UCAS points to meet the entry requirements for the Environmental Health Practitioner Level 6 Integrated Degree.
The day-to-day duties of an apprentice will involve supporting the work of technical staff across Environmental Health and you will need to have good interpersonal and verbal communication skills to be able interact with the public and businesses in face to face situations.
EHP’s work to ensure compliance with a range of regulations and guidance designed to keep people safe and well and therefore your work may often include enforcement outcomes.
