Trainee Environmental Health Officer
Salary: £19,152 up to £34,591 per annum (once fully trained). Starting salary dependent on qualifications and experience
Contract Type: Full Time - 37 hours per week
Contract Length: Temporary Contract - 4 Years
An opportunity to train to become a qualified environmental health officer, by the new apprentice programme
Applicants must ensure they satisfy the academic requirements of the University providing the training before applying.
The work of the environmental health officer is varied but founded on the protection of public health through protecting our environment-including our air quality, the food we eat, our housing and by reducing pollutants including noise.
The shared environmental health service covers the beautiful countryside of Rother and Wealden, including the towns of Bexhill, Crowborough, Hailsham and Rye.
You must be committed to working with the community, dedicated to protecting public health and the rights of individuals to enjoy their homes.
The successful applicant must enjoy working with the public, including supporting individuals within the community, have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and have the ability to carry out effective enforcement, including investigating problems, obtaining evidence, and taking enforcement action.
The post holder would be expected to work alone, sometimes outside office hours.
