Do you have experience of working within an Environmental Health (Private Sector Housing) enforcement role and the ability to inspect and certify works in default, prepare cases for prosecution and present evidence in court and Residential Property Tribunals? If yes this could be the job for you..
We have an exciting role within the Housing department where you’ll deal with queries relating to the licensing, improvement and repair of houses.
You’ll be responsible for inspecting houses in multiple occupation; preparing plans, scheduling of work and reports and recommending enforcement action. You will also inspect completed work and assess guarantees, gas and electrical completion certificates etc.
This role requires to visit sites daily throughout the Borough processing inspection of premises, this will frequently involve the safe use of ladders, scaffolding or entry into confined spaces such as loft spaces.
About you
This is a public facing role so you’ll need to show off your fluency in speaking and writing English.
You’ll have experience of working within an Environmental Health (Private Sector Housing) role.
It’s important that you have the ability to consult, negotiate, persuade, influence and present to a wide range of professionals and members of the public.
We do ask that you have experience in an enforcement role and a qualification in Building Construction or Technology or equivalent in depth relevant experience.
