Job Details and Requirements

Located on the edge of the Peak District and the Sheffield City Region, our innovative Strategic Alliance is making sure we have effective and efficient public protection services and we have recently invested heavily in developments and improvements.

Following a recent service review, we have secured significant additional investment to grow our Joint Environmental Health Service.  A further opportunity has now arisen to join our busy and varied Housing and Public Health team for 18.5 hours per week on a job share basis.  As an EHRB qualified practitioner, you will help ensure residents live in safe homes by dealing with the full range of housing matters, including responding to enquiries and complaints, carrying out investigations and inspections of private sector housing, including Houses in Multiple Occupation, serving notices and taking other enforcement action where necessary.  You will also deal with a variety of public health matters, such as domestic statutory nuisance, drainage, Gypsies and Travellers, filthy and verminous premises etc.

Benefits include discounted leisure services, fully funded professional fees, generous leave and flexi time allowances and agile working opportunities.  All our teams are working from home at present, and the future of our working arrangements will likely be a mix of remote and site working requirements.
