We are looking for two Environmental Health Practitioners to join our busy Environmental Protection team at either Grade 8 (Graduate level) or full Professional level, Grade 10/11.

Our Environmental Protection Team focusses on complex pollution control, air quality management, commercial and industrial nuisance and environmental projects.

As either an EHRB qualified practitioner or an equivalent specialist, you will enable our Joint Service to provide expert advice to internal partners and customers, effective commercial and industrial noise and nuisance, planning consultations and LA-PPC regulation and permitting.  You will also develop environmental projects to support our communities.  Knowledge of LA-PPC, LAQM and Contaminated Land regimes is essential to the post.

The successful candidate will be a confident communicator, able to make clear decisions and prioritise your workloads.  You will be able to contribute to service development and improvement programmes and be effective in the use of ICT.

If you join us as a graduate from an Accredited degree in Environmental Health we will support your career development, funding your CIEH Chartered Practitioner Programme (CPP) fees and other training costs and ensure you get the experience needed within our service or with our partners to become fully qualified.  Graduate entry posts are initially offered on a 12 month temporary contract, subject to successful completion of the degree, with a permanent position offered with satisfactory progress on the CPP programme.  Graduate appointments will begin following graduation from your current course if you are still studying.

Our Service Improvement Programme is shaping our future and we are embracing change in how we work and how we deliver efficient and responsive services, whilst also investing in our people.

Benefits include an essential car user allowance, discounted leisure services, fully funded professional fees, generous leave and flexi time allowances and agile working opportunities.
