Job Details and Requirements

We need an Environmental Protection Officer to combine legal and enforcement expertise, an educative approach and local environmental quality project management within our busy Environmental Enforcement Team.

Ideally degree qualified, you will have experience in environmental protection and public health interventions, waste regulation and local environmental quality improvement.  Our communities are at the heart of what we do so experience of working with local groups and providing guidance and support is desirable. You will lead on complex investigations and manage community engagement within the team.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills will be essential for the successful candidate.

The service is embarking on a significant improvement programme and we are looking for exceptional professionals who can help develop and improve how we deliver our service.

Located on the edge of the Peak District and the Sheffield City Region, our innovative Strategic Alliance is making sure we have effective and efficient public protection services and we have recently invested heavily in developments and improvements.

Benefits include discounted leisure services, fully funded professional fees, generous leave and flexi time allowances and agile working opportunities.  All our teams are working from home at present, and the future of our working arrangements will likely be a mix of remote and site working requirements.

The ability to deal with emergencies, unpredictable workloads and incidents will be essential, as is an eye for detail.
