Head of Service, Quality Assurance & Practice

Our client in the South of London is looking to appoint a Head of Service, Quality Assurance & Practice Development. This role sits in the Children's and Adults Services department and will report into the Director, Children & Families. You will be in charge of the whole service whilst also being responsible for around 50 staff.

This is a strategic role whereby you will be expected to lead and manage quality assurance and practice development across the council's Children & Families Division to meet statutory requirements and regulatory requirements including inspection.

You will provide overall management, coordination and development of the audit and learning functions and possibly, depending on interview, the performance and data systems team to deliver high quality support and challenge to operational services incorporating cross system facilitation of continuing improvement and innovation.

Within this role you will be managing a significant budget and ensuring that cost effective, support services are organised / purchased in response to identified needs and risks with a focus on outcomes. The post holder will be expected to lead the strategic and operational development of services across the division to improve the wellbeing of vulnerable children and their families, and engage with corporate colleagues and other partners to ensure an integrated approach.

In order to be considered for this assignment it is essential that you hold a professional social work qualification and be registered with HCPC. You must have substantial experience of working in a leadership role managing social care services which must include responsibility for safeguarding and children in care services with quality assurance experience.

It is also key that you have experience of strategic project management, change management and joint working with professionals from a range of agencies, including co-ordinating inputs from a range of professional sources.

This role is a 6 month contract and pay rate will be £500-£550/day. Please make sure that you understand the requirements for this role, as only those with the relevant experience will be considered.
