City of Wolverhampton Council are seeking to recruit a Senior Environmental Health Officer within the Private Sector Housing Service.

As part of an overarching reform Private Sector Housing recently moved into Commercial Regulation, with Environmental Health, Trading Standards and Licensing. The Service is exploring opportunities to work alongside the other enforcement disciplines. Private Sector Housing and Trading Standards have already worked together to undertake a number of high profile prosecutions and use Enterprise Act enforcement orders and ASB injunctions against rogue landlords and letting agents. HMO Licensing will soon be moving to Licensing Services to improve the customer experience and increase efficiency. The Service is committed to working innovatively to achieve better health outcomes in the private rented sector.

The day to day role will be dealing with housing disrepair, HMO licensing and illegal eviction, you will take a lead role on projects.

We are seeking an individual with relevant qualifications and significant enforcement experience. You will need to be an innovative, solution focused, dedicated individual with an ability to manage
a high and competing workload, and with good communication skills.

It is likely that some out of hours work will be necessary.
