Belfast City Council is seeking to recruit Environmental Health Officers to carry out a combination of enforcement, investigative, educational and advisory duties, contributing to the improvement of the health and quality of life of local residents and visitors to Belfast and the protection of the wider environment.

The immediate vacancies are within the Port Health Unit. As a member of this team, you will play a leading role in imported food control by ensuring that foods coming into Northern Ireland, both from Great Britain and other countries outside the EU, are safe and do not present a risk to public health, while at the same time helping NI’s supply chains to operate smoothly.

You must have excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively as part of a team and to prioritise and manage your own workload.

Due to the nature of the post and the port operating 24/7, you will be required to work evenings and weekends. Vacancies for other working patterns may arise and be filled from a reserve list.

Please visit www.belfastcity.gov.uk/jobs to find out more about these roles.

Closing date: 4pm on Monday, on Monday, 24 May 2021.
