Senior Environmental Health Officer

Salary: Band 11 £35,745 to £38,890 pa plus a generous annual leave package and Local Government Pension Scheme

The role will require the successful candidate to work in all aspects of environmental health, and offers the post-holder the excellent opportunity to use and develop their already broad knowledge of this exciting and influential discipline. As part of the Regulatory Service team you will be responsible for helping to over-see the day-to-day operational and managerial duties, as well as delivering your own work programme.

You will need to hold a degree or diploma in Environmental Health, be registered with the Environmental Health Officers Registration Board. You will be responsible for leading an effective and efficient service, relating to environmental protection, private sector housing, and supporting food safety, health and safety, planning and licensing and other related areas of work.

The service is responsible for all aspects of environmental health, so a good knowledge in these specialisms would benefit. You will be expected to have excellent communication skills across all media, be able to effectively manage your workload and have a proven track record of achieving compliance via a variety of interventions including statutory action.
