Environmental Health Officer/Technical Officer
Private Sector Housing Team
As an officer within our dynamic housing service you will be leading on Disabled Facility Grants (DFGs) and Discretionary Assistances which the Council offers.
The role is both varied and interesting, combining the full range of private sector housing functions, including delivering a range of housing grants and loan assistances, enforcement of housing standards, HMO licensing, the licensing of caravan and park home sites. There will also be additional duties such as tackling poor housing conditions and regulating private rented accommodation.
To meet the requirements of this exciting role you must have an expertise in DFG’s. Knowledge of private sector housing enforcement would be desirable but not essential.
You will be self-motivated and able to work effectively as part of a team to bring about desired outcomes. We pride ourselves in providing an excellent customer service and will therefore expect you to be able to contribute to this with strong interpersonal skills.
You will either hold a degree or equivalent in an Environmental Health or related subject, or possess in-depth experience in this area of work, and be able to show continued professional development.
