About the role…

We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Environmental Health/Food Safety Officer who will work within our shared service of West Oxfordshire District Council, Cotswold District Council and Forest of Dean District Council. 

The main duties cover food safety and hygiene, health and safety and public health.  You will be undertaking inspections of a range of premises including our higher risk and approved premises, sampling, and investigation of service requests, communicable diseases, food poisoning outbreaks and accidents.  You should have at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role and be confident to lead on complex cases including court attendance.

Your base will be our Witney office but you will also have the opportunity to support your colleagues by assisting with visits and investigations in Cotswold/Forest of Dean.

You will need…

  • Degree/Masters/Diploma in Environmental Health or Higher Certificate in Food Premises Inspection
  • To be EHRB registered
  • 5 years experience in a similar role
  • A NEBOSH Certificate/Diploma an advantage

  • A full driving licence and access to a vehicle
