About the Role: 

My Client is currently looking for an experienced Environmental Health Officer to join their busy Food Safety team. The role will see you cover food hygiene inspections across categories B-E. This will require you to undertake site visits and inspections of food premises, serve and enforce notices where necessary and provide advice and training for improving their standards. You will also be required to carry out reactive work, investigating hygiene complaints on an ad hoc basis. 

The contract on offer is for an initial 12 months. There is some scope for flexible working but they will need you to be on district for at least 3 days per week. The rates have been left open to negotiation but we could expect around £35-£40 an hour Umbrella.  

About You: 

An up to date knowledge of Food Standards and Food Safety Legislation is essential. You will also be required to have a qualification at degree level or equivalent professional qualification in Environmental Health, or in Food Safety and Food Standards. Either EHRB registration or a Higher Certificate in Food Control/Safety is also an essential as well as 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
