Public Health Consultant
Our Client in the South East of England is looking to appoint a Public Health Consultant to join the Executive team there. This is a unique opportunity on a 6 month interim contract, to help embed public health within local communities, contributing to the improvement of the public's health and wellbeing through mainstream activities, whilst leading and managing the response successfully in unplanned and unforeseen circumstances.
This is a very strategic role and you will be building strong relationships in order to develop and implement programmes that will improve the whole county and help reduce inequalities. This role provides professional advice and knowledge in respect of public health, so you should have experience of using complex information to explain public health issues to a wide audience. You will be a strategic thinker with analytical skills to utilize both qualitative (including health economics) and quantitative information.
You will be responsible for developing and delivering inter-agency long and short term strategic plans, projects and programmes which deliver key public health targets and support and drive the council's wider organizational strategy for improving the health of people. You will also be accountable the delivery strategy for services, ensuring that performance is clearly defined in terms of benchmarked outcomes and short, medium and long term business, budgetary, performance and quality targets. It is key that you maximise the development of public health through education and training, forging links with academic centres, commissioning research and contributing to professional teaching.
This assignment is looking for someone to start ASAP and as mentioned earlier, it will be for an initial 6 month period with a pay rate of £600-£700 per day. This role is an executive level position and will require you to regularly deal with board members and stakeholders so experience in this is essential.
You must be included in the GMC Specialist Register/GDC Specialist List/UK Public Health Register (UKPHR) for Public Health Specialists. If included in the GMC Specialist Register/GDC Specialist List in a specialty other than public health medicine/dental public health, candidates must have equivalent training and/or appropriate experience of public health medicine practice
