Health and Safety Officer

Our client based in London is recruiting for a Health and Safety Officer to join their team on an interim basis to provide the Street Scene management and supervisory team with professional support in respect of health and safety compliance across the range of operational and professional functions provided by the service.

Hourly rate - £30-£35 per hour

Duties

Be a point of contact for health and safety enquiries, provide initial health and safety advice to service managers and work in conjunction with the council’s Safety, Health and Wellbeing team.

Manage the services health and safety data sets and records to support health and safety workload planning, performance and compliance monitoring and reporting.

Coordinate and support Service Managers and the Street Scene Management Team in delivering the Street Scene Health & Safety Framework and complying with Health & Safety requirements in the workplace.

Review and analyse data arising from health & safety inspections, audits and accident & near-miss reports identifying trends or patterns.  

Knowledge and Experience

NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent Health and Safety Certificate

Experience in carrying out incident investigations and providing advice on remedial actions.

General knowledge and understanding of current health and safety legislation and its application within the workplace

Knowledge and understanding of health and safety processes and incorporating sensible risk management

Experience in undertaking risk assessments

Ability to analyse and understand data and information, and to provide management information and reports
