Are you looking for a chance to be part of a small busy team where individual contributions are valued?
At Epsom & Ewell Borough Council, we are a friendly employer with an opening for an individual to help make a difference in a wide range of environmental health areas including food safety, private sector housing, pollution control and health and safety. Whilst recent food safety enforcement experience is preferred, we will also be happy to consider practitioners looking to broaden their wider environmental health skills. If it’s been a while since you practiced in some of these areas, we will provide full training and support to get you back up to speed.
The district is amongst the most compact in the country making it possible to be highly influential and to really get to know the area well. Our modern offices are placed within easy reach outside of London by road or rail and owing to the compact nature of the district, it is often possible to carry out visits without getting in a car or taking public transport.
Whilst we are small, in our multi-disciplinary team, we support each other to achieve more than our size might suggest and we are not afraid of enforcement where that becomes necessary.
Perhaps you are looking at broadening your influence or interested in reducing your commute – call Oliver Nelson, Environmental Health Manager on 07739615282 or email onelson@epsom-ewell.gov.uk to discuss the role or view our video at www.epsom-ewell.gov.uk/careers
In return, we offer excellent office accommodation five minutes’ walk from Epsom railway station, heavily subsidised parking if needed, an attractive salary, performance related pay, CIEH subscription fees and eligibility to join the Local Government Pension Scheme. Epsom & Ewell Borough Council is an equal opportunities employer.
Closing Date: 25th April 2021
Interview and Assessment: Week of 26th April 2021 (likely to be virtually)
