£45,834 - £48,819 per annum
Fixed term for 2 years.
How to meet the housing challenge of a generation?
Merton, Richmond and Wandsworth’s shared regulatory services partnership is a shining example of the power of creative collaboration. Bringing together a range of environmental health, enforcement, technical and income generating activities, the partnership is trailblazing a new approach to regulatory services in the capital and shaping a city class commercial operation that provides outstanding results for businesses and communities. As the Lead Officer for High Rise Building Safety you will provide leadership on the critical matter of high rise safety, chiefly within the London Borough of Wandsworth; working with both residents, developers and key stakeholders to ensure leaseholder safety is protected and concerns are addressed.
About the role
Reporting to the Residential & Pollution Services Manager, you will work within the Private Sector Housing services, but also link heavily with colleagues in central government and supporting agencies.
As a lead officer, you will provide leadership, professional and technical advice on high rise safety and across private sector housing. This will span the remit not only of environmental health & building safety, but will also require a project-based approach to include: monitoring of key developments, analysis of building risk profiles and administration of building safety legislative outcomes, including management of grants.
The London Borough of Wandsworth is placing increasing importance on this area of work and you will be joining at a critical time, with the ability to shape the response to this key emerging issue to the benefit of many residents.
About you
You will be a qualified regulatory services practitioner with experience in private sector housing or building management. You will bring experience of working at a lead or managerial level in local government or building management; with a track record of providing advice and support to leaders and senior decision makers.
Does this sound like you? If so apply today to join and lead this most important and exciting of partnerships.
