Food Safety Officer

Our client in Bedfordshire is recruiting for an Officer to undertake Food Premises inspections, particularly all risk food premises under the FSA Food Law Code of Practice to start asap, initially for 3 months, with a strong likelihood of being extended thereafter.  

Duties would predominantly be initially food safety inspections however, due to pressures on the service the successful candidates could be called upon to undertake reactive food and health and safety work and Covid enforcement.

Experience in carrying out all types of food hygiene inspection and complaint work is essential. Ability to drive and have own transport is essential.

Inspecting officers must hold one of the baseline qualifications, and have associated registration. The baseline qualifications are Higher Certificate in Food Control or certificate of registration or Diploma issued by the Environmental Health Registration Board.

The Inspecting Officer must be able to demonstrate how they are capable of meeting the competencies relating to Inspection of Food Establishments (Cluster 4.) and have at least 10 hours of Food Core CPD as specified in the current version of the Food Law Code of Practice and Practice Guidance.

A copy of relevant qualifications, CPD certificates and certificates of registration with EHORB/EHRB must be held on file by Buckingham Futures before the contract commences.

Rate £35.00 - £42.00 per hour depending on experience.
