Grade 7: £41,394 - £47,914 per annum

Permanent, Full Time 37 hours per week

South Cambridgeshire District Council is an ambitious Council with an exciting green agenda for the future. We want to improve the quality of life for our residents, develop sustainable communities, and drive economic growth and prosperity. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved so far and we’re committed to doing even better in the future.

Following a service restructure we are now looking for a Principal Officer within the newly formed Waste and Environment Service to provide leadership to deliver our objectives of modernising the way we do business and putting the environment to the heart of everything we do.

We are looking for an Officer who is eager to roll up their sleeves and make things happen. We are looking for a colleague who will bring extensive experience working in environmental protection and has covered private sector housing, HMOs, and statutory nuisance. The successful candidate will also have an appreciation of the range of environmental health and licensing functions. We will offer you a friendly and fun environment, where we face challenges as a team, and celebrate successes together.

For an informal discussion about the role please call Lesley Beevers, Service Manager (People, Protection and Planning), 07704 018451 or Peter Gibson, Principal Officer (Environment Planning), 07749 711511

Closing date: 9:00am Monday 8 March 2021

Interview date: 18 March
