Senior Food Safety Manager

We have been engaged by one of the UK's fastest growing fresh food production and delivery companies to recruit for an exciting new role as Senior Food Safety Manager.

Primarily an online business, their products are also stocked in leading food retailers such as Harrods, Amazon and M&S. They also have a thriving new business developed in partnership with Deliveroo so they are right at the cutting edge of the fresh food to table business in the UK.

Their mission is to be the leading company in the UK within their sector and as Senior Food Safety Manager your role will be crucial in delivering their ambitious plans. You will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer.

You will have some very clear objectives to deliver including:

- Driving change in the organisation to improve food safety
- Implementing a continuous improvement approach to all processes that you own
- Efficiently managing work across a multi-site operation (8 dark kitchens, 1 packing facility)
- Coaching the team on food safety matters
- Working to ensure consistent quality of product and processes

To carry out this role you will need a proven track record of establishing and owning a H&S system. Ideally this experience will come from a food production background or you may currently be working as a Consultant to private sector food businesses. We'd expect a relevant food science related degree level qualification and ideally further professional training / qualifications.

It is essential that you understand the technical side of food production including lab testing and shelf-life testing and you will need to have a good knowledge of food labelling processes for packaged goods going into a retail setting.

Alongside the technical, you will need a positive, hard working ethos; the role will be challenging and our client needs someone who can 'get things done'.

The starting salary will be £45-£50k with 25 days holiday. The role is based in London. Travel expenses will be covered.
