We are looking to recruit a full time Environmental Health (Compliance) Officer to work within a small team, principally concerned with environmental protection work. The post is permanent involving a range of duties including air quality, environmental permitting, noise and light nuisance investigation, and statutory consultation work in relation to planning and licensing applications.

We are seeking a qualified EHO with experience of regulating within an environmental health field. It is essential you have the ability to analyse and interpret complex legal and other information, make objective assessments and regulate in a proportionate way. If you have the appropriate skills and experience, we can offer a challenging opportunity for you within a friendly team.

The post will be based in the Council’s Parker Lane Offices within Burnley Town Centre. Provision is being made for working from home during the pandemic.

The Council’s licensing service is delivered by a strategic partner (Liberata UK Ltd), and the successful post-holder will be seconded to the strategic partner.

This is a Politically Restricted Post within the meaning of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989.

We are proud of our flexible approach to work arrangements and our culture of openness in which ideas for improvement and service development are welcomed. The council operates family friendly policies, is concerned to accommodate individual’s needs and committed to professional training and personal development.
