Buckingham Futures are currently working with a client in Kent that are in the process of setting up a major UK border control facility, working in conjunction with DEFRA in response to changes brought about by Brexit.

As part of the new team, Buckingham Futures are recruiting for Port Health Support Officers.

This is role on an interim to permanent basis

This is the perfect opportunity for a recent Environmental Health graduate to kick start their career with a role working on a flagship project in the UK.

As a Port Health Support Assistant you will work alongside Senior Officers carrying out:

  • Checks on imports of products of animal origin
  • Checks on high-risk food not of animal origin
  • Checks on organic food
  • Checks on illegal unreported and unregulated fishing
  • Checks on animal composites and other relevant controlled goods
  • Offer advice, inspect consignments and complete import/export
  • Serving to protect public health by applying port health controls on
  • imports in accordance with relevant statutory provisions, rules and
  • international trading standards.
  • Provide operational support in relation to issuing of Export Health
  • Certificates for fish and fishery products.

You will be right on the front line as the country adapts to the changes brought about through Brexit and as such you will have the chance to take up a unique role with excellent career prospects.
