Environmental Health Team Manager (Commercial)

Our client in the West Midlands is recruiting for an Environmental Health Team Manager (Commercial) to lead and manage Food Safety and Standards, Feed Hygiene, Infectious Diseases, Health & Safety and Animal Health, functions to effectively and efficiently deliver Regulatory Services in support of achieving specific outcomes for local people.

Duties

To manage a team of officers and support staff including the assessment of individual and team performance against agreed shared and personal targets, driving efficiency and continuous improvement.

Ensure service quality consistently meets prescribed and published parameters and standards and to ensure consistently high levels of customer satisfaction, through the delivery of agile performance management processes.

Lead and co-ordinating technical leads in the specific areas of food hygiene, feed safety, food standards and animal health to deliver the regulatory programmes.

Take personal responsibility and be directly accountable for the performance and use of resources of a clearly defined service area which supports the delivery of key outcomes for local people achieved by building an effective team.

Manage the delivery of key aspects of and support the development of operational action plans and a programme of projects across the functional area relevant to the post in order to deliver improved Regulatory Services outcomes.

 Acting as a lead specialist and contribute to cross-cutting agendas including local and neighbourhood plans, in order to protect health and wellbeing, vulnerable people, the wider community and the environment.

Knowledge and Experience

Educated to degree level or equivalent in Environmental Health, or other professional qualifications Certification of registration with the Environmental Health Registration Board (EHRB)

Extensive managerial experience

A post-graduate qualification or extensive knowledge and operational expertise to an equivalent level in a relevant specialist subject area.
