Northampton Borough Council have an exciting opportunity for the right person to join their Private Sector Housing Team.

In Northampton, we have completely transformed the way in which we tackle criminal, rogue and irresponsible landlords who knowingly rent out accommodation that is unlicensed, substandard or unsafe.

Our cutting edge, intelligence-led, risk-based, multi-agency approach to housing enforcement (and our development of our EHOs as trained investigators) is turning heads and getting results.

We are now looking to appoint a driven Environmental Health Officer/Housing Enforcement Officer who is serious about making optimum use of civil penalties, rent repayment orders and licensing fees in order to tackle housing criminals and improve conditions in the private rented sector.

To meet the requirements of this exciting role, you should ideally have working knowledge and experience of private sector housing enforcement and the confidence and passion to succeed.

If you want to be at the forefront of modern housing enforcement, and to make a real and lasting difference to people’s lives, we would be delighted to hear from you

These are exciting times at Northampton Borough Council as we move towards becoming a unitary authority. Changes across Northamptonshire in which the county council and all the district and boroughs councils are joining to create unitary authorities covering populations of over 300,000 each. This transformation could open the doors to new and exciting career opportunities for all our employees.

Closing on: 25th January 2021 @ 12 noon
