Our client in North Yorkshire is looking to appoint a Licensing Enforcement Officer to join their team. The post holder will provide investigative, enforcement and other support / intervention services in relation to the full range of activities undertaken by the Licensing team.

You will be expected to conduct enforcement activities in accordance with appropriate inspection programmes, provide guidance and advice to businesses, respond to consumer queries / complaints and work with other organisations and agencies to address issues of concern within communities.

You will provide technical and professional advice on matters related to local authority licensing (as directed by service management) including the provision of advice to members of the public, members of the licensing team and other departments / agencies internal or external to the council. The post holder will be required to act as a witness in Court as part of civil / criminal proceedings.

The post holder will be expected to work late evenings / early mornings and weekends as required by the service - this work will be part of the normal weekly working hours (and will be recorded within the council's flexitime / time off in lieu processes). The role itself will be 36 hours per week and the pay rate is £20 - £24 per hour.
