Head of Waste and Street Cleansing
Our client is looking for an Interim Head of Waste and Street Cleansing to start ASAP in January. Essentially you will have overall project and contract management responsibility serving to manage and monitor performance and implement policy and procedure to improve service delivery.
You will be the key contact in leading on any external procurement activity whilst overseeing day to day operations across several business units across 2 Boroughs. You will contribute to the Council's Climate Emergency and Reduction and Recycling Plans serving to add your technical knowledge and input to help deliver longer term waste objectives. On a regular basis you will be liaising with Councillors and external bodies and you will attend meetings as a representative of the Council. You will be expected to produce reporting data and use this to inform decision making.
The role will require someone with previous experience delivering a busy service that operates almost continuously 7 days per week. You will need an excellent knowledge of local authority procurement practice and you will be someone with a keen eye for detail and the strategic experience to drive and deliver value.
We expect the role will last 3-6 months, it may be subject to extension, and we'd expect to pay around £450/day. Our client is based in South West London and operates as a joint authority.
