Just a 25-minute train journey from the centre of London, Dacorum occupies an enviable location just outside the M25 and is home to the towns of Hemel Hempstead, Berkhamsted and Tring. This role leads a broad range of our frontline services, including environmental health and waste, as well as business continuity – taking a lead role in the Council’s response to COVID-19. It’s a highly visible role with extensive contact with elected members, and an increasing emphasis on county-wide working in response to the pandemic.
We expect that you’ll already have management experience in operational services – it’s likely that your background will either be in environmental health or waste, and some knowledge of both areas would be ideal. Confident on your specialist subject matter, you’ll be keen to pursue new approaches to service delivery that can enhance provision and deliver great value for money.
