Job Details

Our client, based in the South West are looking for a Head of Environmental Health to lead and co-ordinate the environmental health response to the Covid emergency, alongside the efficient and effective leadership and management of the team and service. With the current post holder due to retire shortly this will be an interim opportunity in the first instance, although a recruitment process to fill the role on a permanent basis will begin shortly. Candidates seeking the role on an interim basis may also be considered for the permanent role.

You will be asked to provide effective leadership and overall management of the Environmental Health team and services comprising: food safety, health and safety, environmental protection, licensing, pest control, animal welfare, renewable energy, home energy efficiency, private sector housing renewal and the Council's land drainage responsibilities.

To be successful in this role you will need experience and strong track record at a senior level within the Environmental Health field as well as a proven track record in delivering through partnership as well as the ability to prepare and present complex reports and advise Members, Strategic Leadership Team and Heads of Service on environmental health related issues.

They are willing to offering £300-£600 LTD per day, this rate will depend on experience and qualifications.
