Environmental Health Officer, Pollution Control
Full time: 36 hours per week, Permanent contract
Salary: BR11-BR13 £33,598 to £41,205 per annum
Bromley in the South East of London has a good balance between the challenges of an inner London Authority and a District Council, with a mix of areas. We are London’s largest Borough geographically and cover densely urban areas in the north through to green belt countryside in the South.
The role involves implementing and delivering the team’s reactive and planned workload in relation to the control of pollution. You will be a specialist in at least one area of pollution control and will be able to support the delivery of all functions relating to Environmental Protection including, air quality, permitted processes, private water supplies, waste, contaminated land and noise, including reviewing and advising on planning applications and general enquiries.
As an EHO you will be appropriately qualified with a Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health, though applicants with other relevant qualifications may be considered. You should have operational experience in one or more of the disciplines specified above and will be familiar with undertaking investigations into legislative breaches and taking appropriate formal action, although those with transferable skills from other areas will be considered.
