HEAD OF PUBLIC PROTECTION
Salary details: £64,550 - £64,550
We are looking for exceptional candidates for this opportunity to lead our Public Protection division as part of our wider public health service in Hull and help to achieve our ambitious vision for the health, safety and wellbeing of the city’s residents and for local business and enterprise.
The postholder will have strategic responsibility for determining the direction and objectives of the Public Protection Division, including Environmental Health/Food Safety (including Health & Safety), Environmental Regulation, Trading Standards and Licensing. You will be responsible for strategic planning and management, whilst working within a framework defined internally by corporate aims and objectives and externally by legislation and Government policy.
The role requires a proven track record in Public Protection services, knowledge of effective leadership techniques, a robust knowledge of Public Protection legislation, procedures and processes, the drive and vision to lead a team of professionals at a time of change and development and a good understanding of local government working. The postholder will need to provide system leadership, developing partnerships and working in collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders including politicians.
This is a critical post for the local authority and the Public Health service and we would greatly welcome discussions with anyone who is interested in this post.
Interviews will be held week commencing 18th January 2021.
