Food Safety Enforcement Officer

Buckingham Futures have taken on an opportunity for Food Safety Enforcement Officer in the East of England to effectively implement and deliver the reactive and planned workload in relation to Commercial Regulation, focussing on Food Safety and Infectious Disease.

Duties

Inspections of all types of premises and categories of risk in relation to food safety and standards, and also complete investigations, sampling and other interventions.

Resolve complaints relating to food hygiene & food standards, and respond to reports of infectious disease, in a timely manner in line with service policies and national standards whilst providing expert advice and information and where necessary taking proportionate enforcement action.

Ensure letters, reports, notices, revisits and other interventions and formal actions required following inspections, site visits, complaints etc. are undertaken and recorded in a timely manner.

Requirements

Must hold the Higher Certificate in Food Control and be registered with the Environmental Health Registration Board (EHRB), or equivalent.

Must have experience and detailed understanding relevant to the post including Food Safety,  Food Standards, Infectious Disease and food sampling as well as relevant post qualification training.

Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a wide range of groups and individuals, including employees, contractors, members and external organisations, with the ability to build opportunities for joint working with partners/stakeholders to progress and deliver strategic objectives.
