Our South London client is recruiting for Covid Marshal Team Leader to provide oversee and manage compliance in the public and businesses around Covid-19 regulations and guidance.
Supervising a team of Covid Marshals, the team leader will oversee the workload of officer carrying out preventative measures relating to Covid-19 regulations such as:
Social Distancing
The wearing of face coverings by employees and the public in enclosed spaces
Covid-19 Secure risk assessments and the practical application of effective controls to reduce the spread of the virus
The role of the Police and regulatory services in enforcing the Covid-19 legislation
Duties
To oversee the Covid Marshals in the delivery of the council’s objective of reducing the transmission of Covid-19 in the borough.
Supervise the Covid Marshals in providing a visible presence borough wide to instil confidence in customers, businesses and the general public that the council is taking effective action to make the borough a safe location to work, visit and live in
To work a shift pattern which covers the service requirements of the role in providing a visible presence during the night-time economy and during weekends when there is the greatest public presence in shopping areas
Undertake information gathering visits under the instruction of the Principal Regulatory Services Officer or other senior manager within the Regulatory Services Partnership for the purposes of identifying, recording and reporting standards relating to the Covid-19 legislation and guidance
To compile and disseminate intelligence reports of problems identified whilst carrying out patrols and inspection duties
Develop and manage excellent working relationship with colleagues and stakeholders to work collaboratively to drive up compliance with Covid-19 legislation and guidance within the borough.
Engage with the public to increase awareness of Covid-19 guidance and gather intelligence regarding areas of concern or poor compliance and share these with regulatory colleagues
Produce timely and accurate performance reports as required by the Principal Regulatory Services Officer, Head of the Regulatory Services Partnership or other senior manager
Monitor and record the performance of the Covid Marshals against work programme targets and provide regular reports on progress, ensuring that service delivery objectives are met within agreed timescales
Skills & Experience
Previous experience of managing others in a frontline customer focussed profession, successfully engaging regularly with the public or businesses
Knowledge of the role of the police and regulatory services in the enforcement of Covid-19 legislation and guidance
Built and developed productive and collaborative working relationships with colleagues, stakeholders and partners
Experience of working in a customer-focussed environment and to influence, persuade and achieve through others
Experience of using standard IT packages and ability to support others in their day to day use
Experience in successfully supervising their own and the workload of others in an environment where deadlines and priorities frequently change and are often conflicting
